More snow arriving in our area.  Nothing new going on... for a Monday.

I have a layout to share that was submitted at Boys Rule Scrapbook Kits  for their February Sketch Challenge.

Here's the sketch:

This our little cutie grandson when he was 3 years old.  I can't believe he's 11 y/o already!

He was just standing there looking at me, waiting to go outside.  Love this photo!

These arrows are the cutest!  After cutting them out the edges were distressed.

 

 I found this cute little smiley face brad in my stash.  Figured I'd better use them... since I only had two left!

The star gem was also added in this grouping.  Thought it filled in the space a bit more.

Here's another look at the arrows under the photo.

 

All the edges were distressed then splattered with paint and added various brads.

Ribbon was added along the top and bottom of my page.

Under the sticker letters I added journaling.

 

Here's a look at the right side of my page, showing the layers and brads.

And here's a look at the left side.

 I started out using a toothbrush to spritz the paint on, then I added more paint to the toothbrush and shook the brush over the page... which created the larger splotches.  I got the effect I wanted.

Prize Possession

Hello,

This is my father in law on his beloved tractor plowing the potato fields.

The larger stars were distressed.  The edges of the banners were turned up slightly.

 

The words are different sizes with the "p" used for both words.

Peaceful

Hi,

Back again with another layout that was submitted at Boys Rule Scrapbook Kits

for their November 30 Sketch.

Here's the sketch:

I rotated the sketch clockwise and this is what I created:

This is our son, walking through the fields.  He looks so peaceful and relaxed.  I couldn't help

but take this photo while I was walking a ways behind him.

Alcohol Inks (watered down): Adirondack

Perfect Pearls Mists

 

Various stars and circles added a bit of interest to the page.

There was no other word to describe the photo but "peaceful."

 

Here's a better look at the misting.  The alcohol ink are the faint spots and the misting is

a bit clearer and shiny.  Love these mists.

So Comfortable

Today is another layout which was submitted at Boys Rule Scrapbook Kits Blog http://boysrulescrapbookkits.blogspot.com/

for their sketch challenge.

I've been checking out various challenge blogs and this one caught my eye, so I figured I'd

play along.

Here's the sketch I had to work with:

And this is what I created:

This is Dylan and Grampie on the lawn mower.  I looked forward to hubby mowing the

lawn when Dylan visited.  It was so cute to watch him sitting there with his grampie and then he

would fall into this "trance" state and start nodding his head... ready to fall asleep!  It must have

been a calming sound for him to relax that much!  :)

Supplies used:

Metal Washers (from hubby's stash)

Grass Cardstock Sticker: Paper House

Sharpie Marker

Once I got the title flowing the way I wanted, I adhered it in place.  The twine was knotted

on each end.  Washers were placed randomly around the title.

I've had these metal tags for so long... and, of course, I didn't have all the letters I needed

for the title.  There was nothing else I wanted to use... so I simply flipped the tag over and

used a black marker to "color" the letter.  I chose letters that were similar in shape to the

two "O" letters that I needed.  I chose the "G" and "Q."  If you look closely you can see some

different shapes on those two letters.  I just tried to make the letters as wide as I could with

the marker.  To make sure all the letters blended together, I used the sharpie marker

over all the letters.  Hey, it worked!  :)

After journaling, I unraveled a piece of twine a bit at a time, just the way I wanted it, adhering as I went.

I liked the "unraveled" look much better.

This "grass" cardstock sticker was actually from a soccer sheet in my stash.  

I separated the two words, knotting them on each end.  I liked the looks of it not attached

all together.
