Kick'in It

Hello,

It's a rainy, gloomy Saturday here.  Perfect day for scrapbooking!

I have a layout to share that was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Cooking up a Masculine Layout, Canvas or 3 Card Set Challenge (CUCC15).

The challenge:
NO girls, NO flowers & NO pink.

Also, use at least 3 of these ELEMENTS:
Arrows, chipboard, stars, punched shapes, stamps, brads, buttons, tags, stickers that are male oriented, bits and bobs from hardware stores such as washers, twine, clothing tags, washi tape, transparencies.
Paper featuring plaid, argyle, chevrons, sports, spots, vehicles, tools, abstract shapes.

And use at least 2 of these TECHNIQUES:
Stamping, distressing, inking, painting, paper tearing, doodling, hand stitching.

Here's what I created:
Our son playing soccer.  Love these photos and wish I could say I took them, but I didn't.
These were taken during his Junior year.

For the 3 Elements I used:
- Stripes (pp)
- Stickers
- Washi Tape

And 2 Techniques:
- Distressing (outer edges of background paper and title sticker)
- Hand Stitching (Upper right corner)

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok, My Mind's Eye
Washi Tape: Home Made
Various Soccer related Stickers
Distressing
Sharpie Marker

Washi tape is under all the other banners (brownish).  I also added a soccer ball sticker and word over part of the ball.

This sticker serves as the title for my page.  I also distressed the edges.

I added hand stitching in the upper right.

I matted the sticker on pp.

I added a sticker on this photo which says, "Man to Man."

Another sticker is along the bottom of the photo on the right.

A strip of soccer balls sticker is along the bottom of my page.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day.

Good Times

Hello,

Ahhhhhh!  It's finally FRIDAY!

I have a layout to share with you that was submitted at Sketches 4 All for their April Buttons, Bling and Banners Challenge (Apr BBB).

Since I love these three requirements, I decided to play along.  Here's what I created:
This is Andrew and I in Miami quite a few years ago.  And because we happened to be there on my birthday my sister in law was determined to celebrate.  She got me a beautiful photo frame (which I'm holding but doesn't show in the photo) that says, "Good Times."  That's what we had while visiting... good times!

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok, K&Co.
Paper Doily
Buttons
Flowers
Glitter Gems: Home Made
Glitter Chipboard Butterflies
Swirly Bling
Pearl Color Mist: Wilton
Lilac Color Mist: Home Made
String Pearls
Title Sticker Letters
Martha Stewart Border Punch
Ribbon
Sketch: Page Maps (Dec 2007)

For my banner I layered pp over cardstock and wrapped the banners around string pearls.  The banner was misted with a lilac mist.  I used a border punch along the top and added ribbon over that.

The flowers were misted the pearl mist.  Swirly bling shoots out from behind the large flower.  Buttons are to the right and below the flowers.  My sweet glitter gems are the centers of the smaller flowers.

I added another large flower to the left of the photo.

The doily was misted with lilac mist and pearl color mist.

A closer look at the flowers/gems... and the sweetest butterflies ever!  They're chipboard, glitter and bling... what more could I possibly want!?!  :)

Here's the other butterfly.

A better view of where I added the buttons.

I was trying to get a better photo of the shimmer in the mist... oh well.

Thinking of You Card

Hi there,

Here's a card that was submitted at Sketches 4 All for their Let's Get Cooking #7 Challenge.  Choose 3 in a row from the Tic-Tac-Toe board to create your project.

Here's the board:

I went diagonal and chose to use: Glimmer Mist, Flowers & Use a Stamp and here's my card:
Supplies used:
Paper: My Mind's Eye, White Cardstock
Ink: Vivid! Brown
Sentiment
Rosettes: Home Made
Glitter Gems: Home Made
Swirly Bling
Perfect Pearls Mist: Biscotti
Tattered Angels Shimmer Mist
Sketch: Splitcoast Stampers (SC312)

The rosettes were misted with both mists and glitter gems added in their centers.

Swirly bling adds a nice touch to the card.  I also misted the whole card.

Libby Grandkids

Hello!

Here's a layout that was submitted at Sketches 4 All for their April 2013 Monthly Mayhem 1-2-3 Challenge (APR123).

The challenge is to use:
1 photo
** 2 colors only
3+ embellies

** And, I didn't read ALL the directions... because I used the colors green and creams... and cream is not considered a "color" so I basically only used greens!  Oh well.  I submitted it anyhow... simply because I love how this turned out... and it took me forever to complete it!

Here's the Libby group!  It took a LOT of planning and scheduling to come up with a date that everyone could get together to have these professional photos taken... and the result was so worth it!

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok, DCWV
Perfect Pearls Mist: Mint
Flowers/Leaves/Green "tails"
Glitter Gems: Home Made
Ribbon
Decorative Trim
"Libby" Cardstock Letters
Chipboard Letters
Distressing
Sketch: Page Maps (Apr 2005)

The flowers look white, but they're cream.  Love those green "tails" which I found in my stash (not sure what they're called) and I only had two of them.  The gems are home made.

I layered several of the large flowers and knotted ribbon for the center.  Leaves were added under the flower and gems are scattered around the flowers.

I distressed the edges of each letter.

I misted just under the photo.  The edges of each chipboard letter was distressed.

A closer look at the flowers, misting and gems.

These are the sweetest!

Here's the left side of my page.

Another look at the flowers and gems.

Decorative trim was added along the bottom of my page.

Happy Birthday!

Hi there,

Happy Thursday!  It's a great day... because it's closest to FRIDAY!  :)

Here's a layout that was submitted at Sketches 4 All for their April - Tags Challenge (Tags).  The challenge is to use 3+ tags on your project.

Here's what I created:
Our son's 3rd Birthday party.  I love the facial expressions before and after blowing out the candles on his cake.

Supplies used:
Paper: My Mind's Eye, Colorbok
Clear Stickers
Tags
Hole Punch
Distressing
Ribbons
Marker
Staples
Sketch: Page Maps (Aug 2005).

Tags are all along the top of the page under the title.  I used various ribbons and rick rack at the top of each tag and some are stapled to the tag.

Here's a couple photos showing a closer look at the tags.  Love how this turned out!
All the ribbon curls and confetti are also stickers.

I circled the "3" to highlight his age.  The tag in the lower left was distressed.  I used this tag to journal the date.

Three tags were used below the photos.  The edges were distressed and ribbons added.  This is where I placed the sub title and added other little sticker embellies.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy your Thursday!

Amazing Smile

Hi,

Ok, one more post before I "retire" for the night.

This layout was submitted at Colorful Creations for their Twisted Blueprints Challenge (twistedapr).  The twist is to use LACE on your layout.

Here's the sketch:

And this is what I created:
This is our daughter when she was 13 years old.  This was a fun sketch!

Supplies used:
Paper: K&Co., Colorbok
Flowers
Glitter Gems: Home Made
Swirly Bling
Stick Pins
Lace
Title Stickers: K&Co.
Perfect Pearls Mist: Biscotti

I added a small flower and glitter gem in the upper left of my page.

Here's my flower grouping.  Lace is below the flowers and swirly bling peeks out from behind the flowers.

I adhered the title stickers onto pp before adhering it to my page.  I also added two stick pins into the lace beside the photo.

I misted above the photo and to the lower left of the photo.

Here's a look at the left side of my page.

A closer look at the flowers and cute glitter gems.
