Camporee

Hi there,

I have a layout to share that was submitted at Scrap the Girls for their March Challenge, which is a Color Challenge, to use Black, White and Green on your project.

I decided on a layout using a sketch by designs by diana (Sketchy Thursdays).
This is Linda and I at a Boy Scout Camporee, which is a weekend camping out.  We get to "supervise" the boys as they cook, clean and participate in a variety of competitions and challenges throughout the weekend.  I think the best part for us is that we don't have to cook or clean up the dishes after!!  Woo hoo!

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok, DCWV
Border Punch: Stampin' Up!
Flowers
Sticker Title Letters
Gems
Ribbon
Green Mist: Home Made
Perfect Pearls Mist: Forever Green
Sharpie Marker

Wire ribbon was added slightly over a punched paper strip, above the journaling.

Journaling reads:
Linda & I (Leaders of our Boy Scout Troop) at a Fall Camporee - a weekend of camping out and fun events for the boys.  It's fun for us too!  Sept 13, 2008

The green misting on my background paper is mist that I made.  I watched lots of tutorials and finally made my own.  The splatters are not on purpose... that's from a cheap spritz bottle!  I definitely need to purchase spray bottles for a bit more $ so they will mist the way I want!  of course, it's perfect if you want large splatters!  :)

To make my own mist, I used Metallic Paint, pouring enough in the bottle to cover the bottom of the bottle.  Next I added rubbing alcohol to the bottle, filling it only about 3/4 full.  Then have fun misting!  :)
You can see the shininess to it... which is so cool.

Flowers were added with green gems for their centers.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!

Us

Hello,

Here's a layout that was submitted at a site I stumbled upon and this sketch caught my eye.  I submitted my page at Scrap the Girls for their February Challenge.

Here's the sketch:

And this is what I created:
This is Lynn and I when she was just 5 years old.

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, Colorbok, Other
Sizzix Leaf Die
Various Flowers
Darice Embossing Folder
Title Sticker: K&Co.
Perfect Pearls Mists: Biscotti & Forever Green
Mister Huey's Color Mists: Shine
Gems

The leaves were tucked under the flower.  The edges were turned up a bit for some dimension.  Three flowers were layered.  The bottom flower was embossed and the edges curled.

Two small flowers were added in the upper right and lower left of my page.

This cute cardstock sticker serves ad the title above another flower.  You can see the embossing better on this flower.

The edges of the larger flowers were curled for some dimension.

A closer look at one of the flowers.

I misted the background paper and strips... but it doesn't show very well.

Thanks for taking a look.
Have a wonderful day!
