Smile Tag

Hi!

I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend... after running around everywhere most of the week!

Here's a tag that was created for Sketches 4 All for their Creative Tags - Masking Challenge (MASKINGTAG).  You can see the challenge here.

This is my "Smile" tag:
I used a doily stencil to create the masking on the background.  The darker paper was embossed.  The clear sentiment was placed over the epoxy sticker.  The flowers were white and I misted them to match my tag and added glitter gems.

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV
Ribbon
Staple
Flowers
Glitter Gems: Home Made
Epoxy Oval Sticker
Clear Sticker Sentiment
Doily Stencil
Mister Huey's Color Mist
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Here's a closer look.

Cute

Hello,

Here's a tag that I created for Sketches 4 All for the Word Prompt Wednesday #19 (WPW19).  You can see the challenge here.

The inspiration word is CUTE.

Here's my tag:
The tag was embossed and misted with a gold color mist.  Lace was added along the bottom.  A strip of ribbon was added under the lace for some color.

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, Colorbok
Lace
Word: Cut from pp
Ribbon
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Gold Color Mist
Gems: Home Made
Flowers: Cut from pp
Sizzix Leaf Die
Leaves: Cut from cupcake liners

You can barely see the ribbon under the lace.  The idea was to have a bit of the ribbon color showing through.  Gems were added on the "Cute" die cut.  The flowers were cut from pp and and using embossing tools, created all the folds in the flowers.  The leaves were cut from cupcake liners and tucked within the flowers.

Sweet

Hello,

It's time to bombard my blog with posts!  I've been stressed... which means SCRAPPING for me!!
Thank goodness all this creating helps!

Here's a tag that was submitted at Sketches 4 All for their Tag Your Pics Challenge (PICTURETAG).  You can see the challenge here.

An easy peasy challenge... create a tag with a photo or photos on it.
Here's my take on it:
This another one of my favorite photos of our grandson hugging his Uncle Andrew.   They were playing at the school playground on a hot day and having so much fun!

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok, My Mind's Eye
Ribbon
SU Border Punch
Sticker Sentiment: CK
Mini Clothespin

A closer look.  The sentiment is so cute with sparkles throughout.

Things I love Pocket Tag

Hi there,

Well, I can honestly say that I've never made a tag with a pocket on it... until now!

I made this tag to submit at Sketches 4 All for the "Wocket in my Pocket" Tag Challenge (POCKETTAG).  You can see the challenge here.

Here's my creation:
The tag is larger than the "normal" size... if there is a normal size tag.  I figured I needed lots of room to create a pocket... so I used a larger one.  :)

Supplies used:
Paper: K&Co.
Ribbon
Rhinestone Ribbon
Banner Ribbon
Clear Sticker
Satin Ribbon
EK Success Border Punch
Sharpie Marker

Part of the sticker is hidden under the tags sticking out of the pocket.
Cute banner ribbon was added on top of the pocket with a row of rhinestones.

On the tags I added "Things I Love" about my hubby.

Here's a closer look at one of the tags.  I made 6 tags for the pocket.

Card & Tag Set

Hi there,

It's time for me to host another Quote Challenge at Soul Scrappers.  Woo hoo!
It's pretty simple... use the following quote somewhere on your project.  Your project can be a tag or card, as I did, or a layout, digi, altered item or mini album.

"May the dreams you hold dearest, be those which come true, the kindness your spread, keep returning to you."
-Author Unknown

How about heading over to Soul Scrappers and check out their site.
And you can see my challenge here.

For my examples, I decided on a card & tag set.
Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok, White Cardstock
Metallic Rub ons
Computer Font: Alisha
Staples
Decorative Trim: Webster's Pages
Prima Flowers
Gems: Home Made
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Nestabilities Die
Glitter Chipboard Butterfly: K&Co.

Here's a photo with just the tag.
Metallic rub ons were brushed lightly around the edges of the quote tag.  The decorative trims were stapled to each tag and home made gems were added in each flower center.

A closer look a portion of the tag.

The background paper was embossed.  The quote block was cut using the Nestabilities dies.  It's been awhile since I used these... and thought it time to break them out once again.  :)
The quote block was also embossed and metallic rub ons rubbed lightly over all the raised areas to enhance the embossing.  A few banners were added to the right of the quote.  And, of course, I had to add flowers that match my papers... and a cute glitter butterfly.

Here's a closer look at one of the flower groupings.

Here's a closer look at the metallic rub ons on the raised areas.

And, a final look at the set.

A Card and A Tag

Hi there,

It's time for me to post my June Challenge at Sketches 4 All.  This month I've chosen to make a card and a tag as my examples... using "fabric." Most of us have some sort of fabric lying around... and well, this is your opportunity to put that fabric to use and create something spectacular!  That's right... it could be something spectacular!!  Just imagine what you could make with satin, silk, canvas, cotton, knit, twill, linen, nylon or acrylic.

I hope you'll hop on over to Sketches 4 All and check out all the fun challenges going on for the month of June.  And... there's also super fun weekly challenges too!  You're sure to get inspired.
And... you can see my challenge here.

Ok, here's my "Thinking of You" card and "Celebrate" tag:
I used canvas for the flower on my card.  Under the circle of lace is a circle cut from satin fabric.
The base of my tag is fabric and below the flower is lace fabric.

Supplies used:
Paper: K&Co., White Cardstock
Canvas Fabric
Silk Fabric
Lace
Sentiment
Ink: Memories Madonna Blue
Corkboard
Perfect Pearls Mists: Sunflower Sparkle & Heirloom Gold
EK Success Border Punch
Petals (Hand cut)
Sketch: Page Maps (June 2008)

Under the lace flower center I also added a silk fabric circle, which hides where all the petals come together.

I thought I would have a hard time to punch the corkboard.... but it was a piece of cake!  I love punching corkboard!  It's so cool!  I also misted it too.

the petals were misted... and I was hoping to get a good view of it...

 Supplies used:
Striped Fabric
Lace Fabric
Flowers/Leaves
Glitter Gem: Home Made
Clear Sticker Sentiment
Ribbon

The clear sticker was added on top of the lace.  Ribbon was added above and below the lace... hiding the lace edges.

Here's a closer look at the flower and glitter gem.  Aren't these gems the cutest?  A bow was added at the top of the tag.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Don't forget to head on over to Sketches 4 All and check out all the challenges... and mine too!  :)

Baseball Layout & a Tag

Hi there,

Welcome to the world of weird weather!  It was beautiful most of the day... in the 80's!  Then the really dark clouds rolled in, along with high winds and heavy rains.  There were warnings on the radio constantly... then we lost the TV & radio!

I think most of you know by now that I scrap to MUSIC!  Talk about the "still of the night!"  Good grief!  It's just way too quiet!  I could sing, I guess... but that doesn't sound very good!  :)

Here is my 8th Song Challenge at Colorful Creations (junesong8).  You can see my challenge here.

The song I chose is "Centerfield" by John Fogerty.

Here are the lyrics:

Well, beat the drum and hold the phone - the sun came out today!
We're born again, there's new grass on the field.
A-roundin' third, and headed for home, it's a brown-eyed handsome man;
Anyone can understand the way I feel.

CHORUS:
Oh, put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be Centerfield.

Well, I spent some time in the Mudville Nine, watchin' it from the bench;
You know I took some lumps when the Mighty Casey struck out.
So Say Hey Willie, tell Ty Cobb and Joe DiMaggio;
Don't say "it ain't so", you know the time is now.

CHORUS
Yeah! I got it, I got it!

Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes;
You know I think it's time to give this game a ride.
Just to hit the ball and touch 'em all - a moment in the sun;
(pop) It's gone and you can tell that one goodbye!

CHORUS
CHORUS
Yeah!

Here's a photo of John Fogerty:

My challenge is for you to use a word, several words, song title, a verse or the whole song on your project.  Your project can be a card, tag, layout, mini album, digi or altered item.
The challenge runs until June 30, 2013.

I decided on a layout and a tag to show the versatility of  the song.  Even though the song is about baseball, there are so many other words that can be chosen for your layout, tag, card, etc.

Here are a few examples of the words you could use:
"beat the drum"
"hold the phone"
"the sun came out"
"I'm ready to play"
"headed for home"
"sun"
"home"
"play"
"look at me"

This is our son playing baseball his Senior year of high school.  I previously posted other layouts of him playing baseball.  I take lots of photos... so there will more layouts in the future!  :)

He did well to stick it out for the whole season even though he despised the sport!  I despised it as much as he did... and I went to every game too!  I'm proud of him for doing such a "good" thing for the school... just so they could keep this sport going.

I chose the word "game" from the song lyrics, which is part of the sticker on the upper photo... and I also used the word "game" in my journaling.

Supplies used:
Paper: My Mind's Eye, Colorbok
Burlap
Baseball Stickers
Sharpie Marker
Chipboard Corner Flourish
Silver Color Mist
Square Title Letter Stickers
Sketch: Page Maps (Feb 2007)

The corner flourish was misted with a silver color mist and adhered in the upper right of my page.

The baseball stickers were added on the burlap.

The page title was added onto a banner.

Journaling was added in the lower right.

A strip of burlap was added across the page and some of the strings were pulled out to distress it a bit.

I added a clear sticker on the top left photo.

Here's the tag:
I used a clear sticker for the sentiment on the tag, using the word "fun" from the song lyrics.

Once I got the papers chosen and layered on the tag, it was embossed.  Ribbon was stapled at the top.  Various flowers were added surrounding the sentiment with my home made glitter gems in the centers.  The outer edges of the tag were inked.

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok
Stampin' Up! Border Punch
Darice Embossing Folder
Staple
Ribbon
Clear Title Sticker
Ink: Vivid! Teal
Glitter Gems: Home Made

Here's a closer look at the flowers and glitter gems.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I hope you'll visit Colorful Creations and check out all the fun challenges going on for the entire month of June.  :)
