Smile!

Good morning to all!
Before I get ready to hit the roads, I'm squeezing time for a layout and the winner of my blog candy for commenting.
I have to say that I had 20 of the most inspiring comments.  It was such a great encouragement for me to keep on creating and to try different and new techniques.

First, here's my layout that was submitted at ARTastic Challenge Blog  for their December inspiration, from canvas and body artist, Emma Hack and hosted by ARTastic creative design team member Sarah.

Here is Emma's beautiful artistry:
Additional criteria is to use large, bold patterned paper or paint.

This is what I created.  I'm not sure my papers are "bold" enough, but really hoping this works.  I chose a sketch from Stickers N Fun (Aug 2009).
This is our niece during a family gathering.  An impromptu photo of us.  There must have been someone else getting ready to take a photo too, because I'm looking one way and she's looking another way.  Nonetheless, I love this photo... and our clothes colors even match!  :)

I first chose a patterned paper that was very bright yellows and reds, but that just "washed" out our complexion, so I went with this paper.  It's "large" patterns and hoping it's "bold" enough for this challenge.

Supplies used:
Paper: K&Co., Colorbok
Ribbon
Lace Rosette: Hand Made
Button
Gems: Recollections/Michael's
Font: Cricut Opposites Attract
EK Success Border Punch
Dimensional Magic

Thought I'd try something different with lace.  I simply adhered lace around a circle starting on the outside and working towards the middle.  And this beautiful blue and gold button fills in the center.  This strip of gold satin ribbon was all I had left in my stash and just barely reached across the page.  Phew!

Love this font... it's so elegant looking.  I used a border punch along the bottom of this paper.

I have a couple of photos showing the dimensional magic used on the letters.  They looked so "plain" without anything on them and dimensional glaze made them look so shiny!

What's a layout without BLING!!   It brings to life an empty corner of the page.

A better look of the letters with dimensional glaze on them.

Thanks for taking a look at my Blog!
