You're Everything I Need

Hello,

Another layout to share with you that was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Song/Lyric Challenge (SLC28).  You can see the challenge here.

Simply choose word(s) from the lyrics to create your project.

The song is "Halo" by Beyonce'

Here are the lyrics:

Remember those walls I built?
Well, baby they're tumbling down
And they didn't even put up a fight
They didn't even make a sound
I found a way to let you in
But, I never really had a doubt
Standing in the light of your halo
I got my angel now

It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
It's the risk that I'm taking
I ain't never gonna shut you out!

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby, I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace
You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby, I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo, halo
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo...
Halo, ooh ooh...

Hit me like a ray of sun
Burning through my darkest night
You're the only one that I want
Think I'm addicted to your light
I swore I'd never fall again
But this don't even feel like falling
Gravity can't forget to pull me back to the ground again

And It's like I've been awakened
Every rule I had you breakin'
It's the risk that I'm taking
I'm never gonna shut you out!

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby, I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace
You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby, I can feel your halo
I pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo, halo
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo...
Halo, ooh ooh...
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo, halo
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo...
Halo, ooh ooh...
Halo, ooh ooh...
Halo, ooh ooh, oh...

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby, I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace
You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby, I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away

I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo, halo
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo...
Halo, ooh oh...
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo, halo
I can feel your halo, halo, halo
I can see your halo, halo...
Halo, ooh oh...

And a couple photos of the singer:

This is my layout titled, "You're Everything I Need."
I chose the words "You're everything I need" from the lyrics.

This is hubby and I in the Spring of 2005.

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok
Gesso
Circle Punch
Stencil
Satin Rosette: Home Made
Metallic Rub ons
Flowers
Twine: American Crafts
Woven Label: Making Memories
Swirly Bling
EK Success Border Punch
Clear Sticker Letters
Heart Charm
Glitter Gems: Home Made
Sketch: Page Maps (Sept 2013)

In the lower corner is a woven fabric label over a large circle and banners.

After the Gesso dried, I rubbed metallic rub ons over all the stenciling and used another color to lightly brush on the background paper.

Over the flower in the center left, a gold heart charm was tied around the flower.

Beside the photo is a cluster of flowers and swirly bling.  A punched border is above the flowers.  The red satin rosette is home made.

The clear letters were adhered onto pp and curled using a pencil and adhered on the parts what touched the page.

A closer look at the stenciling and heart charm.

Cherish

Hi there,

There's still snow on the ground!  I know we're eventually going to get more of the white stuff... but it's always hard for me the first time it actually snows and stays on the ground!  Maybe it's because I dread it so much!!

Here's a layout that was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Cooking up a Muted Layout Challenge (CUCC22).  You can see the challenge here.

This is the challenge:
1.  Use muted colors only.
2.  Use any of the words: Forever, Cherish or Adore.
3.  Add journaling.
4.  Have a small title.
5.  Add flowers.
6.  Add sequins.

This is what I created titled, "Cherish."
A family portrait from long ago!  One of the many of my fave photos!

I used EVERYTHING from the criteria!

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, Paperbilities, Other
Cardstock Stickers
Rosettes: Home Made
Flowers
Gems: Home Made
Marker
Clear Photo Corner Sticker
EK Success Border Punch
Ribbon
Sequins
Cardstock Border Strip
Sketch: Page Mays (Sept 2007)

Found these cardstock border strips and one that fit perfectly with my page.
My page title is "small" and just above the journaling.
A clear photo corner sticker was added in the upper right on the photo with a tiny flower.

Here's my flower cluster.  The rosettes are home made, as well as the gems.  I also tucked another one of the word choices within the flowers "Adore."

Sequins were scattered around the flowers.

Here's a better look at the sequins, ribbon, border punch... etc.

A better look at where I tucked the word.

Home at Last

Hi there!

I have a wonderful, touching (at least for me) layout to share that was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Cooking up a Lacy Layout Challenge (CUCC21).  You can see the challenge here.

The criteria:
1.  Use a LOT of lace.
2.  Use a series of similar photos.
3.  Add a fancy journaling box.
4.  Add flowers.

Here's my layout titled, "Home at Last."
We were so happy to finally have our daughter home!  Six months is a long time to be away from her son... and she TOTALLY SURPRISED him!  It was awesome!  I asked Dylan to come over and after hugging him when he came through the door, I told him that I had something for him in the living room.  He never expected it would be HIS MOM!  It was so unbelievably cool!  And the photos are a bit blurry because I was shaking, crying, laughing... and so stinkin happy to have her home and to see the reunion with her boy!

I used everything from the criteria!  Woo hoo!

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok, DCWV
Lace
Lace Rosettes: Home Made
Gems: Home Made
Ribbon
Ink
Sticker Letters
Marker
Satin Flower: Home Made
Sketch: Page Maps (Dec 2008)

I have lots of this lace... so I may dig it out more often to use.  Love it on this page!

I made all the flowers/rosettes as well as all the gems.  I scattered a few smaller gems below the flowers.

My page title.

The lace and ribbon above the photos.

A closer look at some of the flowers and gems.

My journaling block was traced and fussy cut.  The edges were inked and gems were also added.

More close ups.

Together

Hi there,

Brrrrr!  It's a true Fall day and the wind is blowing... and more rain is coming...
A GREAT day to stay in and CRAFT!!  :)

Here's a layout that was submitted at Stuck On U Sketches for their September 27 Sketch Challenge.  You can see the challenge here.

This is the sketch:

I absolutely LOVE this sketch!!

Here's my layout titled, "Together."
This photo was taken several years ago in a restaurant.

Supplies used:
Paper: K&Co., DCWV, Studio g, Colorbok
Swirly Bling
Gold Fabric
Rosettes: Home Made
Satin Flowers: Home Made
Gold Beads
Tiny Rosettes
Die Cut Page Title
Bling Butterfly

The flower cluster consists of mostly home made flowers that were made with sheer fabric and satin fabrics.  Swirly bling was tucked within the flowers.  I used gold beads for the flower centers.

Received this beautiful bling butterfly as part of a prize... and was holding off on using it... until I created this page.  Love it!

Here's a closer look at the butterfly and flower.  You can see where I put the satin fabric too close to the flame and singed the ends... which gives the flower some character... so I left it as is.

I left the cardstock in the center of the letters.  All the pp were trimmed with black cardstock.

The ribbon was a couple inches wide, so I folded it in half and scrunched it along the bottom of the photo and across the page... leaving the end trailing.

A closer look.

A closer look at this flower grouping.  I tucked a tiny rosette above the two larger flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs

Hello,

Here's another layout for the Turtle Soup September Mini Crop Challenge... to use the 3 B's on your page.

The 3 B's:
Banner
Bling
Border
PLUS:  Scrap about grandparents, kids grandparents, or your friends with their grandchildren or even if you're a great grandparent.

Here's my layout titled, "Hugs."
I used a Grandparent photo, Banner, Bling & Border on my page.
Sweet photo of our son with his gram.

Supplies used:
Paper: My Mind's Eye
Flowers/Leaves
Rosettes: Home Made
Fiskars Border Punch
Page Title Sticker
Glitter Gems: Home Made
Circle Punch
String
Brad
Sketch: Page Maps (Apr 2008)

The circles were punched and folded in half around the string to create my banner.

Here's the flowers/leaves cluster.  All the rosettes were home made, as well as the glitter gems.  A "Love You" brad was added as the center in one of the rosettes.

Here's a closer look.  The border is along the right of the photo... mostly hidden behind the flowers... but you can still see a portion of it.  The bling is the glitter gems.

A smaller cluster of flowers were added just below the photo.

The negatives hearts from the border punch were placed randomly along the left of the photo.

Another closer look at the cute flowers and gems.
