A Moose on the Loose

Hi there,

Here's a layout I've been working on that was submitted at From Screen 2 Scrap for their August Movie Poster Challenge.  You can see the challenge here.

Here's the inspiration "Hoot" movie poster for this month:

This month is a "free scrap," so anything goes.

And, an extra point is added is you add an owl or two.

Here's my layout titled, "A Moose on the Loose."

A moose... right in our back yard!  Holy smokes... I was pretty close to it too!

OK, there's an own on the pp (in the background behind the journaling), more owls on the pp under the flower and I also cut out some of the owls and adhered them with pop dots.

The flower was made with fabric, folded in half and gathered along one edge.  A home made glitter gem was added in the center.  Leaves and stems were added under the flower. 

The journaling block was matted on pp and a little own was added with a pop dot.  Under the foam sign (upper left) I added leaves and a teeny tiny owl (which you can just barely see in this photo).

 Just had to add this foam "One Way" sign at the bottom of my page.

I have another layout to share that was submitted at From Screen 2 Scrap for their July Movie Poster Challenge based on the movie "The Fairy."  You can see the challenge here.  It runs all month, so you have plenty of time to participate.  Even if you are pressed for time this month, there's always next month!  :)

This is what I created:

This was taken on the over pass in Nebraska when we visited my sister several years ago.  It was such a peaceful place... even with the trains going by.  Loved the beautiful blue sky and clouds.

For the criteria, I used clouds (in the photo and cut from pp); lots of blue and white title letters.

These cute clouds were cut from pp that I stumbled upon while searching through my paper packs.

Here's my flower cluster.  I used lots of blue flowers with a touch of white from a couple of flowers.  The glitter gems are silver.

Dreary Day

Here's a layout that was submitted at From Screen 2 Scrap for their June Movie Poster Inspiration Challenge.  You can see the challenge here.  Would love to see you join in.

This is the movie poster from the movie "The Great and Powerful Oz."

 

And the added criteria:

1 pt. = A fence

2 pts. = Gold/Yellow title

3 pts. = Hot air balloon(s)

Here's what I created:

Now that I look at my page... I should have pulled some of the colors from the movie poster to create my page.  Oh well... I used all the added criteria.  It's a pretty plain page, but I tried flowers and it didn't look good at all.  So, this is the end result.

This is a photo taken where our daughter's basic training graduation was.  It was such a dreary, rainy day and cold too!  January in Texas is not the best weather.  Thankfully the next day it was a bit warmer... and no rain.

I was inspired by the dreary weather from the poster... the large letter "O" and the gold.

The title circle area was distressed.  The fence was added as well as ribbon.

Here's a closer look at the fence, which was misted with a gold color mist and layered with pop dots for a 3D look.

 Ribbon was tucked between the two fences and then scrunched on the remainder of the page.

The Perks of a High Rise

I have a fun layout to share that was submitted at From Screen 2 Scrap for their May Inspiration Movie Poster Challenge.  You can see the challenge here.

Here's the movie poster:

 

 And the criteria:

1 pt. = A bit of green cardstock somewhere on your page.

2 pts. = Black title.

3 pts. = Bricks (Stencil, mask, hand made, from pp, painted).

I wasn't sure about this challenge... until I found this photo of our cat and I knew it would be PERFECT for my layout!

Here's what I created:

This cat was always looking for something HIGH to climb on, so when this makeshift plank was made so I could paint the walls, Tom was lovin every minute of it!  On another note, I was NOT!  I was a bit nervous (actually down right scared) about standing on this plank!  Good grief... I was happy to finish painting this very high wall!!  Phew!!

I used all 3 of the criteria listed above.

1 pt. = The cardstock background is green (a light green... but it's still green).

2 pts. = My title is black.

3 pts. = Bricks

Metallic Rub ons

 I made these cute cat faces some time ago and found them in my stash!  I used the metallic rub ons around the edges and rubbed some onto the flowers too.  The larger flower was tucked under the "ear" and a gem was also added, which left the ear standing out for some dimension.

My journaling was added below the photo.

Since the mist I used for the bricks were a bit light... I used the metallic rub ons (a variety of colors) and randomly brushed them onto each brick.

I was hoping to get a photo of the slight shimmer from the rub ons.

I decided on a similar title as the movie poster, which I thought was perfect for my page.

I lightly rubbed metallic rub ons on each letter.

 

Here's my flower grouping with the home made gems.  I used various colors of the rub ons for each flower too.

FUN Challenge!

Hi there,

Another COOL day!  I'm so anxious for Spring to really be here!  Actually, forget Spring this year... I WANT SUMMER!  Which means WARM weather (I hope)!

I am so over this COLDness!!

I got my seeds planted in flats of dirt today and they're in the sunniest window in the house.  Nothing like seeing the little seedlings popping out of the ground!

Ok, now on to the REAL reason for my post.

Here's a fun challenge site that you have to check out.  I love participating in each month's challenge and I know you will love it too!

Freaky and Fun

Here's what I created.  I know the criteria was to use purple and green cardstock, but I decided to go ALL purples and greens!

 These were photos taken from the window of "Ripley's Believe it or Not" in San Antonio several years ago.  Our grandson was totally excited to see all these "strange" things and wanted me to take some photos.

I used all 3 of the criteria on my page.

3 Different Letter Stickers for my Title

Here's my flower grouping.  I wasn't going to add flowers on my page... but when I decided on the title "Freaky and Fun" I had to add flowers because they're "fun!"  :)

The glitter gems are home made and I also added a few smaller gems around the flowers.

I used puffy letters, glitter letters and sticker letters for my title.  Thought I'd make my title a little "fun!"  :)

 All paper edges were distressed and the journaling was added under the flowers.

Here's my freaky cut out!  Our grandson insisted I take photos of this "creature" in the window, and waited and watched me to be sure I took some!

I cut a strip of cardstock to look like grass, then distressed and scrunched it.

I dripped the purple mist that I made.  It worked well because it was a bit thick.  I held the page upright and tapped it on my desk to get the drips.
