The Good Life

Hi there,

I have a layout to share that was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Around the World - Canada Challenge (ATW8).  You can see the challenge here.

These are the inspiration photos:

There's a pile of photos to draw inspiration from!  Love the beautiful scenery in each one!

Drawing inspiration from the "water rafting" photo and the "water, mountains, trees" photo, here's my layout titled "The Good Life"
This is our son and hubby on the lake... having a fun time.  You can see from the look on Andrew's face that he was lovin' every minute of it!  :)

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok, My Mind's Eye
Stickers
Ribbon
Cork board Sticker Shape
Page Title: Cut from pp
"Nature" word cut from pp
Sketch: Page Maps (Mar 2006)

In the upper right I added a corner with a small banner and sub title.

I "fanned" the banners of different sizes under the page title.

Love that I found this title on pp!  Just cut out... and mat, as I did here... and it's done!

This word was also cut from pp and adhered onto cork board.

 These stickers are the cutest!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cute

Hello,

Here's a tag that I created for Sketches 4 All for the Word Prompt Wednesday #19 (WPW19).  You can see the challenge here.

The inspiration word is CUTE.

Here's my tag:
The tag was embossed and misted with a gold color mist.  Lace was added along the bottom.  A strip of ribbon was added under the lace for some color.

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, Colorbok
Lace
Word: Cut from pp
Ribbon
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Gold Color Mist
Gems: Home Made
Flowers: Cut from pp
Sizzix Leaf Die
Leaves: Cut from cupcake liners

You can barely see the ribbon under the lace.  The idea was to have a bit of the ribbon color showing through.  Gems were added on the "Cute" die cut.  The flowers were cut from pp and and using embossing tools, created all the folds in the flowers.  The leaves were cut from cupcake liners and tucked within the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy

Hi there!

Trying to get my mojo back...

Here's a card that was submitted at Sketches 4 All for their Word Prompt Wednesday #21 (WPW21).  You can see the challenge here.

The inspiration word is ENJOY.

This is my birthday card:
Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, White Cardstock
Chipboard Word
Ribbon
Ink: A la mode Blue
Sketch: Splitcoast Stampers (SC318)

Ribbon was folded under the chipboard and a banner  under that.  The edges of the chipboard were inked.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Live Every Moment

Hello there!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  I'm doing "better... thank goodness.
I got out there and weeded my garden and enjoyed the beautiful sunny day.

I have a layout to share that I used as the example for my Quote Challenge (QC26) at Soul Scrappers.  You can see the challenge here.

Maybe I can even entice you to join in on the fun.  And remember, there are a lot of other fun challenges there too.  So hop on over there and check it out.  :)

Here's the quote to use on the project of your choice.  You can create a card, tag, layout (as I have done), altered item or any other project... as long as I can see this quote somewhere on it.

"Live every moment.
Laugh every day.
Love beyond words!"
-Author Unknown

Here's my layout titled, "Live Every Moment."
Yes, this is me... having some fun at a NASCAR event several years ago.  How could I resist on a little fun!

Supplies used:
Paper: My Mind's Eye
Stampin' Up! Border punch
Computer Font: Janda Romantic & "other font"
Flowers & Stems
Ink: A la mode Brown
Ribbon
Sketch: Page Maps (Sept 2007)

After printing the quote on cardstock  I traced the shape and cut... and also cut another partial shape on pp and tucked it under the cardstock for some added texture.  I lightly inked the edges and toned down the white by rubbing the ink pad onto it too.  Ribbon was tucked under one end.

Two flowers were added on the left of the photo with ribbon added under that and across the page.

Here's a closer look.

It was fun using this "stem" from a bouquet of flowers that I recently purchased.  I thought the way it looked was cool... so I kept a bunch of them... never really thinking I would actually use them... but it looks cool on my page.  At least I think so... hope you do too.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

We are FAMILY

Hi there,

Bummer of a day today.  We had to bring our son to the airport yesterday!  So today it's pretty quiet around our house.  :(
And to top it all off...... it's raining!  Which makes it even worse!
Double bummer!!!

Well, I have a layout to share that was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Song/Lyric Challenge (SLC24).  You can see the challenge here.

Here are the lyrics for 'WE ARE FAMILY' by Sister Sledge

(CHORUS:)
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up ev'rybody and sing

Ev'ryone can see we're together
As we walk on by
(FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won't tell no lie
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We're giving love in a family dose

(CHORUS x2)

Living life is fun and we've just begun
To get our share of the world's delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal's in sight
(WE!) no we don't get depressed
Here's what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won't go wrong
This is our family Jewel

Here's what I created using the title of the song, "We are Family"
This is one of the family photos taken shortly after our daughter returned from deployment.  Our son is overseas...

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok
Flowers
Prima Flowers
Gems: Home Made
Decorative Ribbon: Webster's Pages
Title Sticker Letters: Chatter Box

For the 3 "dots" after the words... I used the half domes from the letters in the "e's."  Hey... it worked!  :)

There really wasn't much to add to this page... since the pp is so pretty.  I simply added two flowers in the top corner with home made gems.

The rest of the flowers were added on each corner of the photo.

Here's a closer look at this beautiful trim!

My Hero

Hi there,

Another layout to share that was submitted at Turtle Soup for their Mini Crop Stencil Challenge.  They're having a fun mini crop... head on over there and check it out!  Challenges will run until July 27th.

Here's my layout titled "My Hero" using a grunge chevron stencil below the photo.
This is my hubby marching in the Memorial Day Parade a few years ago.  I never tire of seeing him in uniform...  :)

Supplies used:
Paper: My Mind's Eye, Colorbok
Title Sticker: BoBunny
3D Embellie: Jolee's
Distressing
Grunge Chevron Stencil: Donna Downey
Perfect Pearls Mist
Sketch: Page Maps (Feb 2012)

Love Jolee's embellies!  I also added a sticker on the uniform.  The circle it's on was distressed along the edges.

Love these stickers from BoBunny.

Love these stencils from Donna Downey... and used Perfect Pearls mist.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Make a Wish

Hello,

Another layout to share that was submitted at Turtle Soup for their Mini Crop "Summer Food" Challenge.

Well, cake may not be a "summer food" but the yummy strawberries are!

Here's my layout titled "Make a Wish"
These photos were taken for our son's 18th birthday several years ago.

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok
Clear Stickers
Tag
Twine: Home Made
Chipboard Page Title
Pop Dots
Gold Cording
Fiskars Border Punch
Sketch: Page Maps (Mar 2010)

The clear sticker was adhered onto cardstock and trimmed.  Love this gold cording!  A super find for $ .50 a roll!  I should have grabbed several of them!  A punched border is under the trim.

This clear sticker was also adhered onto cardstock and trimmed.  Pop dots adhere it to the page.  A small banner with distressed edges is on the photo.

Twine was added to the tag and the chipboard page title added partially over it.

 A closer look.
