A Different Kind of Halloween Card

Hi there,

I have a card to share with you that was submitted at Sketches 4 All for their Thrifty Challenge - Saving Paper (Thrifty).  You can see the challenge here.

The challenge is to create a project, saving paper... and show the product before you began your project as well as the finished project.

This is the packaging I used... from a stencil that I purchased.  I've been keeping various packaging if it has a cool pattern on it or random words.

And here's my Halloween card.
I simply folded the cardstock in half... so the decorative edge is on the right.  The background was misted with Walnut Ink and then I decorated.  I did use some paper... but not as much had it been totally from scratch.  Very fun challenge!

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok, DCWV
Cardstock Packaging
Fiskars Border Punch
Walnut Ink Mist
Gems
Distressing
Cardstock Stickers: Studio g
Pop Dot
Ribbon

Here's a closer look.
These gems were created from a package of half beads purchased from the floral department.  All I had to do was paint them!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Boo Halloween Card

Hello,

Here's a card that was submitted at Turtle Soup for their October Mini Crop - Tracy's Halloween Challenge.

The challenge is to simply create a Halloween card.  This is my "Boo" card:

This was a fun card!  The orange cardstock was embossed.  The sentiment is a cardstock sticker.  I added the circle embellie with a pop dot for some dimension.  Twine was tied in a bow and a spider is hanging from the "Boo" sticker.

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, Other, White Cardstock
Darice Embossing Folder
Stickers: Studio g
Twine: American Crafts
Pop Dot

Happy Halloween

Hello,

Here's a layout that was submitted at Sketches 4 All for their October Sketch Challenge.  You can see the challenge here.

This is the sketch:

Another wonderful sketch!!

Here's my layout titled, "Happy Halloween."
This is our son... dressed up and as cute as ever in his Dalmatian costume!  He was so excited for me to finish it and couldn't wait to wear it to go Trick or Treating!

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV
Page Title Sticker: Studio g
Foam Spider
Sharpie Silver Marker
Folder Tab Template
Marker
3D Embellie (pumpkin): K&Co.

The date was added on the folder tab and the large page title sticker added on the lower portion of the photo.

I sketched out the spider web with a pencil then used a silver Sharpie marker to trace over it.

A foal spider was placed on the web and a cute 3D pumpkin placed beside the photo.

Strips of journaling was added above the photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Together

Hi there,

Brrrrr!  It's a true Fall day and the wind is blowing... and more rain is coming...
A GREAT day to stay in and CRAFT!!  :)

Here's a layout that was submitted at Stuck On U Sketches for their September 27 Sketch Challenge.  You can see the challenge here.

This is the sketch:

I absolutely LOVE this sketch!!

Here's my layout titled, "Together."
This photo was taken several years ago in a restaurant.

Supplies used:
Paper: K&Co., DCWV, Studio g, Colorbok
Swirly Bling
Gold Fabric
Rosettes: Home Made
Satin Flowers: Home Made
Gold Beads
Tiny Rosettes
Die Cut Page Title
Bling Butterfly

The flower cluster consists of mostly home made flowers that were made with sheer fabric and satin fabrics.  Swirly bling was tucked within the flowers.  I used gold beads for the flower centers.

Received this beautiful bling butterfly as part of a prize... and was holding off on using it... until I created this page.  Love it!

Here's a closer look at the butterfly and flower.  You can see where I put the satin fabric too close to the flame and singed the ends... which gives the flower some character... so I left it as is.

I left the cardstock in the center of the letters.  All the pp were trimmed with black cardstock.

The ribbon was a couple inches wide, so I folded it in half and scrunched it along the bottom of the photo and across the page... leaving the end trailing.

A closer look.

A closer look at this flower grouping.  I tucked a tiny rosette above the two larger flowers.
