Thinking of You and Happy Birthday Cards

Hello,

I'm slowly coming down from the high anxiety laptop issue!  Wow!

I have a card to share with you today which was submitted at Let's Capture These Sketches for their sketch and palette challenge.

This is the sketch:

And the color palette:

I love this color palette and had to give this a try.  I even found papers that matched these colors pretty closely... an extra bonus for me!  :)

I actually made two cards, which I will post, because I couldn't decide on just one to submit.  :)

This is the birthday card.  I used a new technique on both cards.
I made my own washi tape!  Woo hoo!  I watched a tutorial last night and had to try it out.
So fun!  You gotta give these a try.
I wish I could remember where I found the tutorial... and I know there are a lot of them out there.

If you check out my "Her Smile" post, you will be able to read about how I made them.

Supplies used:
Paper: K&Co., Colorbok
Sizzix Hawaiian Flower #1
Self-adhesive Aluminum
Darice Embossing Folder
Gems: Forever in Time
Sentiments (Thinking of You): The Paper Company; (Happy Birthday) unknown
Satin Cording
Washi Tape: Hand Made using: Double Stick Tape, Glitter Paint, Tissue Paper and Stampin' Up! Two Step Fanciful Flowers stamp
Inks: Stampin' Up! Orchid Opulence, A la mode Black
Big Shot

A closer look at the washi tape, embossing and cute little flowers!

This is my thinking of you card.  Made in the same manner as the first card, only changing the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!
