My Little Brother

Here's a layout that was submitted at ARTastic Challenge Blog for their October Inspiration Photo Challenge.  You can see the challenge here.  You have all month to submit your creation... lots of time to head on over there and check it out.

A little about this artwork:

A little about Mia Taninaka.  The little girl who once painted a forest all over her bedroom walls has grown up to be a wizard of fine line and expansive colour. Sydney born, Mia now lives and creates in the calm and elemental Bali. Painting predominantly with acrylics, watercolour and ink, Mia currently exhibits throughout Australia and Asia, always looking to expand her horizons. She likes to draw and paint on found wooden objects and panels, creating stunning colourful imaginative works inspired by her Japanese heritage and Australian roots.

And here's my layout titled, "My Little Brother."

After we picked up Andrew at the airport, we went to see Lynn at her work.  She was so glad to see her brother!  Another one of my fave photos!

I have used wood embellies as the criteria.

I was inspired by the colors from the Inspiration photo.

A border punch was used on the red paper strip.  One of the wood embellies is the flower.

I decided to pull some of these shapes from the inspiration photo and add them around my circle.

 

The page title clear sticker is below the photo with another wood embellie.

A small wood circle was added onto just a little larger paper circle.

The background paper was misted with a Shimmer mist.... but it doesn't show.
