Good morning!
This sketch is from Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Gallery.
This is the link to their site: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/
I've been looking through sketches from several different sites and challenging myself
to create from the ones that appeal to me.
Hope you like it.
This is the card I created from the above sketch.
Trying to use some "different," bolder paper.
I embossed a part of the card, then added ribbon to cover where the two
different papers meet.
This little bird is the cutest!
I experimented with what I had to create some shadowing around the image.
Using a small cotton ball (which is used to chalking), I dabbed it in ink, and got as much excess
as I could onto a scrap, then gently circled it around from the edges in. The first ones I
did are darker than I liked, but as I got used to it, the shadowing got lighter and looked
much better.
Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, White Cardstock, Other
Bird Stamp: Provo Craft
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Sizzix
Ribbon
Sentiment: Paper Company Clear Stamps
Ink: Vivid! Raspberry, A la mode Black
Have a wonderful day!
Polly :)
I think you did an amazing job interpreting this sketch, Polly. What is particularly intriguing is your use of that polka dot embossing. That, in itself, is not uncommon, but the fact that you used it on only *part* of your card is striking! Cute birdbath image. The inked edge really makes it pop!
