What I Like About You

Hello!

Soul Scrappers was having a "June's Song & Lyric Challenge - SLC10" and I thought
I'd play along.  The challenge runs from 6/21/12 to 7/12/12.

The Challenge was to use one word, a couple words, a sentence or song title to the song,
"What I Like About You."  It's a "free scrap," so I could choose whichever sketch I wanted.

Here's the link directly to Soul Scrappers and their challenge, if you'd like to play along,
or just check out their site:

And, for fun I've included the lyrics to the song.
Anyone remember this song?   :)

What I Like About You - Lyrics

Hey, uh huh huh
Hey, uh huh huh

What I like about you, you hold me tight
Tell me I'm the only one, wanna come over tonight, yeah

You're whispering in my ear
Tell me all the things that I wanna to hear, 'cause that's true
That's what I like about you

What I like about you, you really know how to dance
When you go up, down, jump around, think about true romance, yeah

You're whispering in my ear
Tell me all the things that I wanna to hear, 'cause that's true
That's what I like about you
That's what I like about you
That's what I like about you

Wahh!

Hey!

What I like about you, you keep me warm at night
Never wanna' let you go, know you make me feel alright, yeah

You're whispering in my ear
Tell me all the things that I wanna to hear, 'cause that's true
That's what I like about you
That's what I like about you
That's what I like about you
That's what I like about you (whispered)
That's what I like about you (whispered)
That's what I like about you (whispered)
That's what I like about you (whispered)

Hey, uh huh huh, hey hey hey
Hey, uh huh huh, brrr
Hey, uh huh huh, hey

The Romantics
These boys had massive amounts of hair!  We're talking "Big Hair!"  Remember
those days?  Did you go through the big hair days?  I remember them well, and I'm always wondering how in the world did I get my hair that BIG?  Perms.... that's what I did.  Lots of perms and lots of hairspray!  Yikes!
I'm glad my hair has toned down since then.  :)

Anyhow, after a walk down memory lane, and back to reality, here's the layout that I came up with.
Wish I could remember what sketch I used.  It wasn't even that long ago and I cannot
seem to locate which sketch I used!
Guess I have too many sketches around!  Wait.... is that even possible?  NO.... I think not!
I'll just have to be better at documenting which sketch I use.

Once I found the photo I wanted to use, next came the paper colors (which wasn't that bad),
the sketch (don't remember where I got it) and embellishments (the most fun part)
and journaling (which took more time).

The photo is from 2009.  It was our grandson's 8th birthday party.
Because I'm always looking for excuses to take group photos, this one is my favorite
relaxed photo.  You can tell because Dylan is not really looking at me and Lynn and Andrew are sharing something funny, which is why Dylan has such a grin and Andrew has a "you don't know what I'm up to" look about him and Lynn is just playing along with the moment.  Fun times!

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV
Title Font: Cricut "Stamped"
Cricut
Brown Watercolor Pencil
Satin Cording

Here's a close up of the small tags I placed randomly on the layout.

Love this Cricut "Stamped" font!  I find myself reaching for this one the most.  The letters
are slimmer and therefore fits much better for titles... and poster board signs too!

Have a wonderful day!
Polly  :)
