A Gift to Treasure

This was completed a couple days ago.

Have a layout to share that was submitted at Let's Get Sketchy http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com/
for their Week 2 Sketch Challenge.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my layout:
I absolutely adore this painting.  Why?  It's the very first painting our daughter painted and gave
to us as a Christmas gift.  This girl's got talent!  This beautiful painting is in our dining room and
whenever anyone visits, this is clearly seen.  We've gotten lots of comments on how lovely this is.

Supplies used:
Paper: K&Co.
Sheet Metal: EK Success
Ribbon
Font: Cricut Stamped
Big Shot

The circle was traced with a random object, cut and along the edges, I used a rub on "pencil"
and made these little "stitches."
I tried using scrunched up ribbon under the bow, but it looked like "too much" so I just
settled with a bow.

A little tricky to cut these letters with my Cricut!  My first attempt was a bomb!
So, I used a bit of scotch tape along the edges of the sheet metal and cutting was a
piece of cake.  To get the letters off, that was another challenge!  If I put the tension too
high on my Cricut, the letters messed up..... too little tension and it didn't cut through the
sheet metal.  I finally found the happy-medium but the letters still didn't "unattach" very
easily... thus some of the letters being crinkled a bit.  I smoothed them out as much as I could
before adhering them onto my page.

A small strip of sheet metal was used under this piece of paper... to try and balance
out the page a bit.

Here's a better look at the sheet metal under this piece of paper and
the circle with my "very plain" design on it.
I actually contemplated some sort of doodling "design" but I didn't want to
take away from the photo.

Hope you like it.
