CAMP

Hi there,
Well, we've been getting "the snowstorm" but definitely not what other states are getting.  The 3-5 inches of snow predicted is now 6-8 inches.  What's horrendous is that wind... which is whipping the snow around and it's drifting... which is very deceiving to the eye.

This is our dog, Zoe walking along our garage... and very close to the building I might add, because of the drifts which made a convenient little "tunnel" for her!

And now for the layout I want to share today which was submitted at ARTastic Challenge Blog for their February Inspiration.
Here's the inspiration photo:
The criteria:
Free choice.

This is what I created using a sketch from Scrap-a-Little (#28 by Helen Croft).
I drew inspiration from all the people and the colors.
This is our Boy Scout Troop from several years ago while at Scout Camp.  For 7 days we had to keep track of 14 boys, which wasn't that bad, considering there were over 400 boys at Camp this particular week... that the Staff had to keep track of!!  So many fun events for the boys and they leave camp with all sorts of Merit Badges and little trinkets from the camp store.  It's always a quiet ride home... because they're all sleeping!!

Supplies used:
Paper: Paper Pizazz, Other
Cardstock Die Cuts & Letters
Distressing
Tag
Twine
Paint Splatters/Toothbrush
Distress Stain: Tim Holtz
Sharpie Marker
Hole Punch

The die cuts were distressed along the edges and with distress stain.

I smothered a toothbrush in paint and using my thumb splattered it on my background page... occasionally shaking the toothbrush so it splatters in larger spots.

The tag is tucked under the photo.  I roughed up the edges a bit and added twine for a more "outdoorsy" feel.  Since Archery is a popular sport at Camp, the target and arrow die cut were perfect.

After cutting out the cardstock letters I added distress stain to them.

Each strip of paper under the photo were distressed.  The edges were left raised a bit.

I couldn't resist adding this mosquito to the page.  What's camp without BUGS?  There sure are plenty of them there!

My journaling tag.

Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Love how you thought left of field and went with something a little different as your theme. The colours work so well for an outdoorsy type of photo and your embellishments give it that special rustic feel. Well done Libby.
