Joy

Hi there,
Not much going on in my neck of the woods today.  But I did complete a few layouts, which was great!
I got "stuck" on one sketch challenge that required me to use "texture paste" on my layout.
Since I don't have texture paste, my next endeavor is making my own.  And I actually have the "recipe" to make it.  I just need talcum powder.  I was sure I had some of that kicking around.  Bummer!
So, I guess I'll have to skip this challenge.

But, I did complete a layout for Sketches With Color for their February sketch and color palette challenge.  This is the sketch:

And this is the color palette to use:

This is what I created:
This is our daughter when she was 13 years old and in the 8th grade (Aug 1995).

Supplies used:
Paper: Basic Grey, Colorbok, Other
Lace Paper Doily
Sticker Sentiment: K&Co.
Distressing
Rub on Flower
Perfect Pearls Mists: Forever Red & Sunflower Sparkle
Clear Embossing Powder

The sticker was matted on cardstock and the edges distressed.  This layout is pretty plain, so I added a rub on flower under the title.

I misted the paper doily, covered it with embossing powder and heat embossed it.  It's a subtle effect, which was what I was going for.

Rather than add the banners straight down, I angled them a bit for some interest.  The Banners were misted with Sunflower Sparkle.

Here's a closer look at the doily.

This photo shows some of the "shine" from the embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by!
