Hi,
Ok, this is my last post for today! I'm exhausted from all this posting!!
But I'm caught up... Phew!!
Some good news! I made it to Week 18 at Colorful Creations for their So You Think You Can Scrap Challenge!!! Woo hoo!
Here's the challenge for Week 18 (SYTYCS018).
1. Use this sketch:
2. Create a layout WITHOUT using a trimmer, scissors, or knives on any of your papers.
3. You CAN use a trimmer to crop your PHOTOS ONLY.
4. Add the following on your layout:
a. A bird
b. Staples
c. At least 4 different patterned papers
d. Embossing (wet or dry)
Here's what I created:
Photos are from our son's 18th Birthday. Always lots of red, white and blue because he was born on the 4th of July!!
For this challenge, I used all the requirements:
1. Stayed true to the sketch.
2. NO trimmers, scissors or knives were used on any papers.
3. I used a trimmer to crop the photos ONLY.
4. I used the following:
a. A bird: Stamped on the chipboard square title block.
b. Staples: On each page along the outer edges on the strip of cardstock that goes through the middle.
c. I used 4 different patterned papers.
d. Embossing: I embossed the mat behind the photo on the left page and also embossed each of the 3x3 photos with an embossing folder.
Other supplies used:
Papers: My Mind's Eye, Colorbok
Chipboard
Ink: A la mode Red, A la mode Black
Darice Embossing Folder
Sharpie Marker
Bird Stamp: Stampin' Up! Simply Spring
I created the "pattern" on the chipboard with an ink pad. I also lifted up the edges of the chipboard to make it look a bit worn. I used a marker to at the title, "18" and stamped the bird with black ink.
Papers were torn using a ruler. These tiny strips of papers were also torn with a ruler. A bit tricky because they were so narrow... but I did it!
Staples were added to the left of the photo.
The mat behind the photo was embossed.
Here's a better look at the embossed paper.
For something different, I also embossed the 3x3 photos. Love how it turned out!
You can see the embossing much better on this photo.
Staples added on the right page also.
Thanks for stopping by!
Wow Libby - what a fantastic challenge & you have nailed it perfectly! I love your embossed photo too - that's thinking!
