Life is Good Layout & Happy Birthday Card

Hi there,

It's another soggy day today.  Perfect to hunker down inside!  Not so great for anyone who had plans for this Memorial Day weekend.  There's puddles in my veggie garden and flood warnings.  That's a lot of rain!

I'm having a traumatic day... my camera is dying!  The photos I take are coming out pinkish!  Oh my word!  We have no other backup camera!  Stop!  I need a new camera!!  I guess I thought this camera would last forever... after all, it's been through SO much!  I guess all the freezing winter days, rainy days and moisture in my camera took it's toll!  Ugh!

Ok, enough babbling.
I have a layout and a card to share that was submitted at Sketch N Scrap for their Birthday Bash Kit Challenge - The Sequel.  You can see the challenge here.

Previously I posted a Kit that I put together for Sketch N Scrap... and now is the time to put the kit to use.

Here's one of the photos of my kit:

This is the card I created:
The washi tape was cut as a banner then I wrapped an additional piece around the center to serve as a bow (of sorts).  I looped pearls under the flower.  This flower was an orange/red color, so I turned it over to reveal the cream underside.  The gems are home made and the rub on sentiment is an add on.

 Supplies used:
Paper: My Mind's Eye, White Cardstock
Washi Tape: Home Made
Doily: Cut from pp
Gems: Home Made
Prima Flowers
String Pearls

The only extras I used were the white cardstock and rub on sentiment.

Our daughter and son.  I snapped this photo in a restaurant while we were waiting for our food.

Supplies used:
Paper: My Mind's Eye, Colorbok
Washi Tape: Home Made
Prima Flowers
Gems: Home Made
Swirly Bling: Prima
Tag
Twine
Gold Cording
Wood Flower & Dragonfly
EK Success Border Punch
Photo Corner
Sticker Title
Sketch: Page Maps (Jan 2010)

I left the tag "as is" since it already was the neutral color I was going for.  I added the sticker title, partially on the photo too.  Strands were pulled from the burlap and I added gold cording through the tag.  Love the wooden dragonfly too!

There's nothing like BLING!  This is the most beautiful swirly bling ever!  It's a great way to use up some empty space too.

Here's my flower cluster.  The gems are my home made creations.  Along the right is a punched border (on the striped paper) and home made washi tape was added over that.

A closer look at the beautiful bling.  I couldn't resist!  :)

I played around with the flower petals, pinching the end of some and curling the tips down on the others, for some dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!
