Who Let the Dog Out?

Hi there!

I have several more layouts to share with you today.
Hope you enjoy them!

The first layout was a submission to Soul Scrappers
The challenge is to use a word OR a couple of words OR a sentence OR even the song title on your layout.

Here's the song title and lyrics:

Baha Men

Who Let The Dogs Out Lyrics

Who let the dogs out
(woof, woof, woof, woof)
(woof, woof, woof, woof)

Here's my layout:

Our dog loves snowballs!  She could stay outside all day long... as long as someone was
throwing snowballs up in the air for her!  I joked with my son about getting a "machine"
that makes and throws snowballs... just for Zoe!

I chose a sketch from Stickers n Fun ( Sept 2009) http://www.stickersnfun.com/sketches.asp.

Supplies used:
Paper: Autumn Leaves, DCWV
Twill Ribbon: Forever in Time
Folk Art Paint
Cotton Balls
Font: Cricut Stamped
Heart & Paw Print Die Cuts: From patterned paper
Pop Dots
Sharpie Marker
Cricut

This paw print and heart are cut from patterned paper.  So cool!  I cut them out,
used paint and a cotton ball to rub along the edges, use pop dots and it's done!

The journaling lines were made by dipping a piece of cardstock in paint and gently
placing it down onto the paper.  The cardstock got a bit too much paint on it so
my lines are a bit crooked and thick.

Journaling reads:
I'm not sure where this fascination came from but Zoe has always loved catching snowballs.  We could throw them up in the air for her all day long!  She takes amazing flips through the air and death-defying twists and turns just to catch them in her mouth.  No matter how tired she gets, she still wants to catch more!  Who let this silly dog out?

I used small pieces torn from a large cotton ball and rolled them between my hands so they
would look rounder and adhered them onto my layout.

I wanted to be a bit creative with the title block, so I arranged the letters in different ways,
in hopes of making it stand out.  I used a cotton ball dipped in paint to smear along the
edges as well as the heart too.  The heart has a pop dot under it.

The next layout was a submission to Let's Scrap for their Sketch Challenge (8-29-12)

Here's my take on the sketch:
Andrew's little get together with just the family for his 18th Birthday.  Lynn brought over a lovely
fruit tray and cute little July 4th cupcakes.  Then there's the candles... she got these
really tall ones!  It was awhile before they all got lit!  :)

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV
Ribbons
EK Success Border Punch
Font: Cricut Stamped
Cricut
Gems
Sharpie Marker
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Sizzix
Ink: A la mode Red
Present (unknown brand)
Journaling Lines Stamp: Stampin' Up!

I used ribbons to section out the squares.  I had just enough squares for the title.
Three gems were added above each section.

This small piece of paper was embossed before the number 18 was added.

Gems were also added below, sort of like a "filler" so these smaller sections were used.
A border punch was used on the white cardstock along the bottom and then a wide red
ribbon was added above that.

Two small strips of ribbon was adhered above the journaling block.

A couple of gems were added on top of the ribbon at the upper right of the layout.

This little present was so cute and matched perfectly with my layout and was adhered
using a pop dot.

Here's a better photo of the present embellie.

My last two layouts were supposed to be submissions to Inspired Blueprints http://inspiredblueprints.blogspot.com/
but they never replied to my question about their site.  So, I'm not even sure if the
site is still running and was unable to upload my layouts.

Here's the sketch I used:
Sketch #79

And here's my layout:
Love this photo of our grandson having fun with plastic vampire teeth!

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, White Cardstock, Other
Hexagons: Cut from patterned paper
Ribbons
Border: Traced and Hand Cut
Font: Cricut Stamped
Cricut
Pop Squares

Here's a closer look at what's going on here.  The ribbon overlaps at each corner.
The hexagons were randomly placed.  The zig zag border was traced from a
template I had and hand cut.

Loved being able to make use of the patterned paper and place them on my layout as
cute embellies!

A couple different colors of ribbon were used.  The title was added last.

Pop squares were used under a few of the hexagons.

My final layout is another layout that was supposed to be submitted to Inspired Blueprints.
Since that didn't happen, I'm posting them on my Blog!

Here's the sketch I worked with:
Sketch #80

Here's my take on the sketch:

A couple of cool photos while we were at the Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska a couple of
years ago.  What an awesome Zoo!!
The first photo is my sister and her two girls.  The next photo is of my hubby and our son.  I loved the way the giraffe is in the center of them!  Not sure what they are looking at... probably reading some
info on the giraffes.  :)

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, Debbie Mumm
Tags: C-Thru Stencils
EK Success Border Punch
Ribbons
Felt Leaves: Sizzix Leaf Die
Big Shot
Satin Cording
Ink: Stampin' Up! Lavender Lace
Sharpie Marker
Staples

A couple of tags were layered, a strip of ribbon across the bottom and ribbon stapled to
hold them in place.

Love this border punch!

And here's my cute leaf banner.  I wrapped the very top of the leaf around the
satin cording and adhered in place.

Here's a better look at the banner.  I love this!  I think it adds such a unique
look to the layout.

That's it for today's bombardment of layouts!

Have a wonderful day!
Libby  :)
