Creative Hair Washing!

Hope you're all having a wonderful day.

I have a layout to share which was submitted at Colorful Creations for their Member Spotlight Sketch Challenge (gdtdec). Here's the sketch:

And this is what I created:

This is Linda and I, washing our hair in 5-gallon pails of water, several years ago! You do what you have to do if you want clean hair, right? The boys in our Troop decided they wanted to go on a canoeing/camping trip for 7 days on the Allagash. Yes, 7 days! After around the fourth day, we HAD to get our hair washed. We were so tired of wearing hats. So Linda's husband carried the pails of water for us and we finally washed our hair... with dish soap. Let me just say, "I don't recommend using this!" I think I stood by the fire for over an hour trying to get all the narlies out of my hair! I'm a conditioner kind of girl, so this was a super shocker for my hair! It really felt good to have clean hair though! My hubby said we looked like ostriches!! :)

Above the frame and braid I adhered a pink sheer ribbon and flowers with glitter gems.

The braids were knotted on each end, trimmed and adhered around the frame.

Here's a look at the title and braid... and a little bit of the misting.

For the center of the frame I added a couple of layered flowers with a globe gem.

I didn't braid a long enough piece to wrap completely around the frame, so I hid them conveniently under this grouping of flowers. Yay!

Here's a closer look at the title along the bottom and the frame around the photos.

I hand cut a "frame" for the photos and adhered it with pop dots. On top of that I adhered braided twine and sheer ribbon. Look closely, you can see some of the pop dots.
