I {Heart} U

Hello,
I hope you're having a quiet, relaxing Sunday.
I've been having so much fun making my own washi tape!  I tried another tutorial and it's so totally cool!  And, of course, I always get carried away and make tons.  I dug into my scrap bag and found some really cool papers to use (I'm glad I didn't give them away just yet).

I have a layout to share with you today (with NO washi tape) that was submitted at Stuck on U Sketches for their Switch a Roo challenge.  Not sure what this means?  Well, it's really easy... switch a letter in your title with a die cut... and to try to use only scraps.

Here's what I created:
Me and my kids... my pride and joy!  'Nuff said.

I used scraps except for the background paper.  Sketch is from Stickers N Fun (Sept 2008).

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV, Colrobok
Font: Cricut Stamped
Hearts Die Cuts
Ribbons
Distressing
Sharpie Marker
Color Mists: Wilton
Perfect Pearls Mists

Here's my "Switch a Roo," switching the word "Love" for a heart die cut.  The heart was covered with decorative ribbon, trimmed and added onto cardstock and distressing the edges.

I cut a square from the wide red ribbon and matted it, distressing the edges.  Then I added two die cut hearts.

I layered two ribbons.  It toned down the shiny red ribbon a bit!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!
