Proud

Hello,
Hope you've all had a restful Sunday.

I have a layout to share that was submitted at Kraft It Up for their February Challenge.
The challenge is to use stickers in a creative way on your page.  The stickers can be epoxy, journaling, chipboard, fabric stickers, lettering or decorative borders... and the list goes on and on.

Since I have quite a variety of stickers and I'm lovin Kraft paper, I thought I'd play along.

Here's what I created using a sketch from Page Maps (July 2012):
This is our dear daughter and her friend.  They were so proud to be marching in the Memorial Day Parades.  After marching in several small communities within our area, a group of volunteers provide a breakfast for everyone, then they march in one final Parade.

You can't see it well in the photo, but I dipped a toothbrush into the metallic paint and brushed it along the edges of my page.  I also used to toothbrush to mist the background page.

I used Kraft as my base.  Stickers used:  Journaling block, "Proud" word, Clear quote sticker, which was adhered to a sticker block.

Supplies used:
Paper: Kraft, Colorbok
Distressing
Martha Stewart Border Punch
Gold Wire Mesh Ribbon
Gems
Swirly Bling
Folk Art metallic Antique Gold Paint
Journaling Circle Sticker: Daisy d
Creative Memories Star Punch
"Proud" Sticker: K&Co.
Perfect Pearls Mists: Heirloom Gold & Biscotti

The quote is a clear sticker matted on a sticker block and then on patterned paper.  The shape was traced from a template.  The edges of the matting were distressed.  The gems are tucked a bit under the quote block.

A punch that I hardly use... and it's so cute too!  Thought it would add a little to my page.

The gold mesh ribbon was wired, so I snipped off the wire portion and tucked the rest under the punched border.  Ribbon was also added.

The journaling block is a sticker.  I traced a flower shape and adhered the sticker onto it and distressed the edges.  Gems were added in each petal corner.

The negative stars punched were used above the journaling block.
The background paper was misted with two different mists.

Here's a closer look at the bling.  Gotta love bling... well I do anyway!!  :)

This quote fit so well with my page.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!
