Spring Fling Dance

Hello,

It's Sunday already!  Where did the weekend go?  How was your day?  Hope you had a relaxing one.

I have a layout to share that was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Theme Challenge (THC58).
The challenge is to use the word "Spring" on your layout, birds, butterflies and flowers.
Think Spring.

I used a sketch from Becky Fleck/Page Maps (Oct 2012).
Here's my layout:

This is our daughter before the Spring Fling Dance with her friend and at the Dance with the boy she went with.  Where has the time gone?

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV
Satin Ribbon
Flowers
Rosettes: Hand Made
Gems: Glitterazzi
Butterflies, Swirls & Birds cut from pp
Font: Cricut Stamped
Sharpie Marker
Self-adhesive Pearls
Journaling Block traced from template
Distressing

I folded wide satin ribbon and tucked it under the strip of paper.

Title was cut from patterned cardstock.  The small black flowers already had the gems on them... what a deal!  Black gems were added around the flower grouping.

The birds and butterflies were cut from pp.  The butterflies were adhered in the centers, leaving the wings lifted off the page.  I gently curled the bird wings and head for dimension.

The swirls were cut from pp and tucked under the photos.

Here's my flower grouping.  Various flowers, gems and hand made rosettes, finished off with a butterfly adhered onto one of the rosettes.

Here's a closer look at the flowers and gems.

The journaling block was traced from a template and the edges distressed.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!

Love You

Hi there,
I was glad to finally get a scrapbook page done today.  I started this yesterday and got interrupted, so I couldn't finish it until today.  I'm excited to share my layout with you.  I love how it turned out.  I hope you'll like it too.

This layout was submitted at Soul Scrappers  for their SSQ15, It's About Valentine's Day Challenge.

By completing 3 challenges that were currently running at S.S., your name could go on a list.  The "list" is the names of everyone who will receive some FREE goodies in the mail.  With these goodies you are to complete a layout using, hopefully all of the goodies you were sent or as much as you possibly can.

Additional requirements is to use either a funny photo or serious photo of your loved one.  The deadline for submissions is February 26, 2013.  Prizes will be offered for the "Best Layout," "Random Draw, " Most Serious Photo," and "Funniest Photo."

This is what I created:
This is a photo of my hubby taken in May 27, 2007.  He's not crazy about this photo but I love it!

I used ALL of the goodies I received:
2 Valentine Tickets
Stamped "Love You" Sentiment
Embossed Heart Paper Strip
Mini Sheet of Heart Patterned Paper
Stamped heart
Mini Doily
Baker's Twine
1 set of 3 Flowers
Red Sequins
Lace Fabric

Additional supplied used:
Paper: DCWV, Colorbok, Other
Vellum Paper
Clear Plastic Heart
Hearts (on banner) & Envelopes cut from pp
Other Hearts were Stamped
Ink: A la mode Red
Color Mists: Wilton
Mister Huey's Color Mists
Perfect Pearls Mists

These hearts were traced onto the hearts paper that I received, hand cut and inked.  The background paper was misted with several different mists.

I used the sentiment as my title, adhering it onto vellum and then onto a strip of the lace fabric.
From the embossed strip of paper, which I cut a small piece off one end, I cut out the heart and inked the edges, placing it onto the "o" in the word "Love."

Here's a better look at my title block.

I used the strip of sequins as the banner.  The long, narrow hearts were stamped, the larger center heart and envelopes were cut from pp.  I added a couple strips of the lace fabric onto the banner also.

The embossed strip of paper is under this grouping.  You can just see the end of it on the left.  All pieces were misted.  I started with the doily, added a circle from the hearts pp and another circle of the lace fabric.  The flower petals were curled under a bit for more dimension.  The brad that I received holding the flowers together was a bright blue, so I used the remaining twine, wrapping it over until it was completely covered.

More details to follow:

The clear plastic heart was trimmed with the twine.  The tickets were added just under the flowers.  The stamped heart was added under the doily.

A side angle of my banner.

I cut the remaining lace fabric into strips and rolled them, tucking them under the flowers.  The lace was also misted.

A better look at the tickets.  Two additional strips of lace were rolled to tuck under the other side of the flower.

I had these cute clear plastic hearts in my "Valentine's" stash.  I was equally pleased that the twine made it around the heart too!

The stamped heart was misted and the edges inked.

Here's a closer look at a portion of my banner.

A look at the right side of the page.

Here's a closer look at the twine-covered brad.  Love how this turned out!

Have a wonderful day!

Elfin Magic

Hello,

I'm here with another layout that was submitted at Soul Scrappers for their Negative Space Challenge (NSC18).  This is the sketch:

This is what I created:
Here's our grandson at his school Christmas Program.  He looked so cute with his little elf hat and ears!

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV
Wire Red Ribbon
Mister Huey's Color Mists
Silver Glitter Paint
Foam Self-adhesive Glitter Snowman
Large Plastic Snowflake
Gesso
Distressing
Pop Dots
Font: Cricut Opposites Attract
Cricut

The background paper was misted and a cute little foam snowman was added in the lower right and I also dabbed glitter paint randomly on my page.

For the tops of the ornaments, I used a strip of wire that was snipped off ribbon and folded it a few times to look more like the top of a real ornament.

The large glitter snowflake was used under the center photo "ornament."  Isn't that the cutest little face ever!!

The ends of the wire garland ribbon was wrapped around the back of the page.

Thanks for stopping by.

The 3 of Us

Hello,

Here's another layout that was also submitted at Colorful Creations for their So You Think You Can Scrap Challenge (SYTYCS02) for Week 2.

Each week a "challenge" is posted and to remain in the running, you need to follow the rules!
Here's this week's sketch:

And use at least 3 of the following:

Ribbon
Beads
Chipboard
Glass
Layering
Wood
Pin
Banner
Flowers

This is what I created:
This is Andrew, Dylan and I.  This photo was taken after a long day at work.

Supplies used:
Paper: Colorbok, DCWV
Circles & Heart from Templates
Distressing
Flowers
Chenille Ribbon Banner
Cording
Pearl Stick Pins
Stampin' Up! Brad
Felt Flowers: Sizzix Flower Die
Chipboard
Ink: Vivid! Teal
Gems: Glitterazzi
Folk Art Extreme Glitter Paint
Ribbon
Mister Huey's Color Mists

On the large white flower I stacked two felt flowers and held them together with a brad.  The edges of the felt flowers were inked just enough to give them faint color.  Two stick pins were also added.  Gems were added in the smaller flower centers and randomly around them.

Journaling block.

This is my favorite banner so far!  I love the look of the chenille ribbon!  A bow was added in the center of the banner.

Here's a closer look at the chenille ribbon.

The top layer of the chipboard letters were peeled off... because the color didn't match.  I then inked them and added glitter paint.  A heart with distressed edges has the "3" on it.

The negatives from making the banner were used along the bottom strip of paper.

I added a bit of misting on the lower right of my page.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!

Winter is SNOW Much Fun!

Hello,

This layout was submitted at Colorful Creations for their Random Wednesday Challenge (RWJAN).

The challenge was to use:
1.  Winter photos
2.  The word "Snow" on your layout
3.  Your choice of 3 of the following:
Chipboard
Brads
Eyelets
Ribbon
Felt
Border Punch
Die Cuts
Stickers
Buttons
Glitter/Stickles
Bling
Vellum

This is what I created, using a C.C. sketch by Rochelle Spears.

This is our son during a Boy Scout Winterama event at a local State Park.

I used:
Brads, Stickers, Border Punch, Ribbon and Chipboard.

Supplies used:
Paper: DCWV
Foam Glitter Snowflake
Gold Snowflake Brads
Clear Stickers: Miss Elizabeth's
Fiskars Border Punch
Sharpie Marker
Sheer Ribbon
Gold Wire Ribbon
Glitter Chipboard (the word "Snow")
Title Block traced with Nestabilities Die
Distressing
Border traced from template

I traced around a Nestabilities die, hand cut and distressed the edges for my title block.  The sentiment was whole, so I cut it in half and added the word "Snow" in between the words.

The border was traced from a template and also distressed.  Along the left side I added gold wire ribbon under the paper, so only the circle punches were showing the ribbon.

I added the journaling under the photo and I used a border punch along the bottom of this paper strip.

This large snowflake is foam and loaded with glitter.  So cool!  I simply added a gold brad snowflake in the center.  The edges that were overlapping were cut flush with the background paper.

Additional gold brads were added randomly on the snowflakes which were part of the background paper.

Thanks for looking!
